Citywide Health Campaign #WALK30

The citywide #WALK30 health campaign kicked off in January 2023 to create a pathway for CEOs, organizational leaders, families and individuals to “Take the Healthy Pledge” and inspire others to walk for 30 minutes each day, wherever you are, and then share walking activity and its impacts on personalized social media posts: Houston’s CEOs Take the Pledge to #WALK30.

FitLot Free Outdoor Gyms

Many neighborhoods in Houston have low or no access to gyms to improve strength and conditioning. Fit Houston is creating a network of outdoor fitness parks called FitLots throughout the city that will serve as community health hubs for free access to fitness equipment and fitness programming that all Houstonians can benefit from for generations to come. https://fitlot.org/houston2036/

Healthy City Initiative

Fit Houston is developing a shared agenda around equitable access to free physical activity with partners across Greater Houston. Strong partnerships are essential for every community to be well and stay physically active. The Fit Houston Healthy City Initiative meets monthly.

Community Programs

Our Pop Up Fitness events in the community excite and educate people on the benefits of staying active! As a follow up to Pop Up Fitness, we can train community leaders to start free walking programs for sustained physical activity.

Get Ready!

In the month of January, Fit Houston will launch its #WALK30 campaign to encourage everyone to walk where they are for their health!

Get Set!

CEOs who "Take the Healthy Pledge" are role models for all of us to walk 30 minutes a day during January!

Fit Houston is asking CEOs to post their selfie during the month of January with #Walk30. We want all leaders to post their selfie and encourage employees, friends, and family to walk “wherever you are” for 30 minutes each day.

Go!

We want everyone to post their #Walk30 selfie throughout the month of January. Tag us @fithouston1 and use our hashtag so we can see you walking where you are!
